Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect includes:
- Account Data: When you register or sign in, we collect information such as your email address, name, and profile photo. This is facilitated through Supabase Authentication, Google Sign-In, and Sign In with Apple.
- User Content: We store posts, corridor participations, messages, and other content you voluntarily contribute within the app.
- Location Information: With your permission, we may collect location data (using GPS/geolocator services) to show you corridors, regions, or relevant community information near your location.
- Device & Usage Information: We may collect info about your mobile device (e.g., model, operating system version, unique device identifiers) and app interaction data.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Create and maintain your user account.
- Provide core social features, custom corridors, and post functionalities.
- Personalize content, show local information, and improve user experiences.
- Deliver relevant notifications using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Serve advertisements to sustain the free tier of our services (via Google Mobile Ads).
- Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve Flokk.
Third-Party Services
We work with trusted third-party providers to power Flokk. These include:
- Supabase: For database hosting, real-time sync, and user authentication.
- Apple / Google: For authentication and app store platform features.
- Firebase (Google): For push notifications (FCM).
- Google Mobile Ads: For displaying advertising in the app.
These third parties process your data according to their respective privacy policies.
Data Security and Retention
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the application services.
Your Choices & Ad Consent
You have full control over your data and how it is used for advertising:
- Ad Personalization: You can manage, update, or withdraw your consent for personalized ads at any time by opening the Flokk app, navigating to Settings, and tapping Privacy Choices.
- Tracking Permissions (iOS): You can enable or disable tracking permissions for Flokk at any time through your iOS device settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data.
How to Request Data Deletion
You can request data deletion using either of the following methods:
- In-App: Open the Flokk app, navigate to Settings > Account, and tap "Delete Account". This will immediately initiate the deletion process.
- Via Email: Send an email to support@flokk.in with the subject "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 7 days.
What Data is Deleted
Upon account deletion, the following data is permanently removed from our active databases:
- Your profile information (name, username, avatar)
- Your posts, requests, and corridor participation data
- Your location data, saved posts, and notification preferences
Data Retention
We do not retain your personal data after deletion. However, please note that any messages or content you have sent directly to other users in private chats may remain visible to those users in their chat history. Server logs containing anonymized identifiers may be retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes before being automatically purged.
Children's Privacy
Flokk does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to remove it.
